Should You Include Nerdy References At Your Wedding?
I have a question for you. Should you include your nerdy personality in your wedding? Ummmmm ABSOLUTELY. Is it socially acceptable? I say who cares! Your wedding day is all about you and your significant other. If you have guests who you think will judge you for your disney wedding I have three words for you. DON’T INVITE THEM! You don’t need that kind of stress on your big day.
I LOVE all these weddings I have been seeing where the bride and groom really went for it. I have to say
Harry Potter weddings are my personal favorite. I mean just look at these details from a wedding on Offbeat Bride. http://offbeatbride.com/magical-harry-potter-wedding/
Can we just acknowledge how cute their seating chart is! Also, I love the creativity with the dessert table. I have seen it done different ways with a Honeydukes theme but this is the first time I have seen it done as the trolley cart.

For my own wedding my husband and I had to include as many nods to our favorite fandoms as we could. For our in memory of I decorated a window that said “The ones who love us never really leave us. You can always find them in here.” -Sirius Black Unfortunately it broke that day but I am in the process of creating a new one.
We also included other themes in our wedding day. For our bridal party entrance at the reception we played the Avengers theme song. In our vows we included a small nod to Star Wars because either you do or do not there is no try. We mostly wanted everything to feel enchanted so our centerpieces were an inspiration from this image I found on Pinterest. https://www.pinterest.com/nerdyfoxrentals/pins/
I loved how it felt very enchanted and it played off of the Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood fairy tales. We even included Disney songs before our ceremony and during our Unity Canvas Painting.
We felt it was very important to include our personalities in our special day because that is who we really are. We didn’t care if any of our guests thought it was silly or corny. It was very empowering being able to share that part of ourselves with our close family and friends.
